The Mexican Hat is named after the sombrero.  The scientific name is asteraceac.  This flower can grow 2-3 ft.   The petals are yellow with red in the middle.  This flower will bloom in June-September.  The flower can be found in prairies, road sides, waste places and slops.   This flower can live in hot places.  Mostly found in eastern part of Texas.
